Care Companion PRO
Community Guidelines
Effective Date: July 17, 2026 • Operated by Spatara AI
THE COMMUNITY IS FOR PEER SUPPORT AND GENERAL EDUCATIONAL DISCUSSION ONLY. IT IS NOT MEDICAL, LEGAL, FINANCIAL, OR EMERGENCY ADVICE, AND IT IS NOT THERAPY OR COUNSELING. IN AN EMERGENCY, CALL 911. IN A CRISIS, CALL OR TEXT 988.
1. Purpose and Scope
Caring for an aging parent or partner is isolating work. The Care Companion PRO Community exists so that you do not have to do it without anyone to talk to. It is a moderated space in which family caregivers can ask questions, share what has worked, and offer each other encouragement.
These Community Guidelines govern your use of the Community, including all forums, groups, comments, reactions, direct messages sent through the Community, profiles, and any resource area we open for discussion. They form part of, and are incorporated into, our Terms of Use, and they apply in addition to it.
Where these Guidelines conflict with the Terms of Use in relation to the Community, these Guidelines govern. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Use.
By posting, commenting, reacting, or otherwise participating, you agree to these Guidelines.
2. Who May Participate
The Community is open to registered users of the Service who are at least eighteen (18) years of age. You must participate as yourself, using your own Account. Do not create multiple accounts, do not use another person’s account, and do not permit anyone else to use yours.
You may be a family caregiver, a friend helping out, or a professional caregiver. If you are a professional, or if you have a commercial or organizational interest in what you are posting about, say so plainly in the post. Undisclosed interests are a form of deception and are not permitted.
3. The Spirit of This Place
A few things we ask of everyone:
- Assume good faith. Most people here are tired and doing their best.
- Share experience, not instructions. “This is what happened to us” is welcome. “This is what you should do about your mother’s medication” is not.
- Let people vent. Caregiving involves resentment, exhaustion, and grief. That is normal and it is allowed here.
- Do not compete over hardship, and do not tell anyone how they should feel.
- Protect the person who is not in the room. The Loved One being discussed did not choose to be discussed.
4. No Medical, Legal, or Financial Advice
This is the most important rule in the Community, and it protects you as much as it protects anyone else.
Do not give, request, or act on medical, legal, financial, insurance, tax, or benefits advice in the Community. Do not tell another member what medication to give, what dose to use, whether to stop a treatment, what a symptom means, whether something is urgent, what a scan or lab result shows, how to structure an estate, how to qualify for a benefit, or how to respond to a legal or insurance document. Do not ask another member to do those things for you.
The Community is not therapy. It is peer support and self-help. No participant, including any moderator, is acting as your therapist, counselor, or clinician, and nothing here constitutes therapy, psychotherapy, counseling, or professional mental or behavioral health care. Do not offer to provide those services to another member through the Community.
Sharing your own experience is different from advising someone else, and it is welcome. The line is simple: describe what happened to you, and point people to professionals for what should happen to them.
We do not verify anyone. We do not check identity, credentials, licensure, qualifications, or the truth of any statement. A person claiming to be a nurse may not be one, and even if they are, they are not your nurse. Every post is the view of the person who wrote it, not of Spatara AI, and we do not endorse any post, opinion, product, provider, facility, or service mentioned in the Community.
5. Emergencies and Crisis
THE COMMUNITY IS NOT MONITORED FOR EMERGENCIES. NO ONE IS WATCHING IN REAL TIME. A POST IS NOT A CALL FOR HELP THAT WILL BE ANSWERED. IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY, CALL 911 OR YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY NUMBER. IF YOU OR SOMEONE ELSE IS THINKING ABOUT SUICIDE OR SELF-HARM, CALL OR TEXT 988 TO REACH THE SUICIDE AND CRISIS LIFELINE, OR TEXT HOME TO 741741 TO REACH THE CRISIS TEXT LINE. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT FOR A REPLY IN A FORUM.
If you see a post that suggests someone is in danger, do not attempt to counsel them, diagnose them, or handle it yourself. Report the post to us using the report tool and encourage the person to contact 988 or 911.
We may remove or restrict content describing methods of self-harm or suicide, and we may surface crisis resources in response to such content. Doing so is a signposting measure. It is not an intervention, a wellness check, or a dispatch, and we will not contact emergency services, any authority, or any Care Team Member on your behalf.
If a post discloses abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a vulnerable adult, please contact your local Adult Protective Services or law enforcement. We are not a reporting agency and are not able to act on such a disclosure.
6. Privacy: Yours, and Other People’s
Anything you post can be read by other members, and once read it can be copied, screenshotted, quoted, and shared outside the Service. We cannot recall it for you. Post accordingly.
Do not post another person’s private information. That includes your Loved One’s full name, address, date of birth, photograph, medical record, diagnosis, medication list, insurance or Medicare identifier, or any document, and it includes the same information about any family member, neighbor, aide, or professional. Discuss your situation in general terms. “My father, mid-eighties, early-stage dementia” tells the Community everything it needs.
Do not post your own sensitive identifiers, including Social Security numbers, government identifiers, financial account numbers, insurance identifiers, or login credentials. No legitimate member will ever need them.
Do not post about an identifiable third party without a legitimate reason. Naming and complaining about a specific doctor, facility, aide, or family member can expose you to legal risk that we cannot protect you from, and we may remove such content.
Do not screenshot, quote, or repost private group content elsewhere, and do not contact a member outside the Service based on something they shared inside it. What is said in a private support group should stay there.
7. Prohibited Content and Conduct
The following are not permitted anywhere in the Community. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, stalking, or targeting of any person.
- Hate speech or any attack on a person or group based on a protected characteristic, including race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or medical condition.
- Sexual content, sexual solicitation, or any sexualization of a Loved One, a caregiver, or a minor.
- Content that encourages, instructs on, or glamorizes suicide, self-harm, disordered eating, substance misuse, or violence.
- Content encouraging the neglect, abuse, restraint, sedation, deception, exploitation, or financial abuse of any person, and any discussion of how to obtain, share, or misuse another person’s medication.
- Medical misinformation presented as fact, including claims that a treatment cures or prevents a condition, and discouraging anyone from seeking qualified medical care.
- Impersonation of any person, organization, clinician, or Spatara AI, and false claims of credentials or authority.
- Doxxing, or posting private information about any person without their consent.
- Illegal content, or content promoting illegal activity, including the sale or transfer of prescription medication.
- Spam, flooding, vote manipulation, off-topic disruption, and automated posting.
- Content infringing anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.
- Attempts to circumvent moderation, evade a ban, or interfere with the operation of the Community.
8. No Solicitation, Advertising, or Recruitment
The Community is not a marketplace and not a lead-generation channel. Do not advertise, promote, or solicit for any product, service, facility, agency, practice, fundraiser, application, or investment. Do not use the Community to recruit clients, patients, or research subjects. Do not send unsolicited direct messages of a commercial nature. Do not post affiliate links or referral codes.
Recommending something that genuinely helped your family, in reply to someone who asked, is welcome, provided you have no interest in it and you say so. If you have any interest, disclose it. Undisclosed commercial posting will result in removal of the content and may result in a ban.
If you represent an organization and wish to work with us, contact support@carecompanionpro.com rather than posting.
9. Your Content, and Other People’s
You retain ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant us and other members the license described in Section 19 of our Terms of Use, which allows us to display, reproduce, and distribute your post within the Service so that the Community can function.
You are responsible for what you post and you represent that you have the right to post it, including any content or image created by anyone else. Do not post material you did not create and do not have permission to share.
If you believe content in the Community infringes your copyright, send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to our designated agent at support@carecompanionpro.com, including the information required by 17 U.S.C. section 512(c)(3). We will respond in accordance with the Act, and we will terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
Artificial intelligence. You may use AI tools to help you write a post, but you remain responsible for it. Do not present AI output as personal experience, as fact, or as professional guidance, and do not post AI-generated content about health, law, or finance. AI is confidently wrong often enough to hurt someone here.
10. Moderation, Reporting, and Enforcement
Reporting. If you see something that breaches these Guidelines, use the report tool on the post, or email support@carecompanionpro.com. Please do not reply to it, argue with it, or amplify it.
Our discretion. We may, but are not obliged to, monitor, review, screen, edit, refuse, remove, restrict, or reorder any content, at any time, with or without notice, for any reason or no reason. We are not obliged to remove anything, and a decision not to act on one report is not a precedent for another. Moderation is imperfect, we are a small team, and we will sometimes get it wrong in both directions.
Actions we may take. Depending on the seriousness, history, and risk of harm, we may: remove or edit content; add a notice to it; issue a warning; limit your posting for a period; remove your access to a group or to the Community entirely; suspend or terminate your Account under Section 22 of the Terms of Use; or refer a matter to law enforcement. Removal of Community access does not affect the rest of your Account, and does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fee, because the Community is not sold separately.
Immediate removal. Content that presents a risk of serious harm, including threats, doxxing, sexual content involving a minor, or instruction on self-harm, will be removed immediately and without warning, and will result in a permanent ban.
Appeals. If you believe we have made a mistake, write to community@carecompanionpro.com within thirty (30) days, telling us what was removed and why you believe the decision was wrong. A person who was not involved in the original decision will review it, and we will respond within a reasonable period. Our decision on appeal is final.
11. Our Legal Position
The Community is composed of content provided by other users. We are an interactive computer service provider. We are not the publisher or speaker of content provided by another user, and we do not adopt, ratify, verify, endorse, or assume responsibility for it. Our moderation of some content does not make us responsible for content we did not remove, and we retain the discretion to restrict material we consider objectionable.
The disclaimers in Section 23 of our Terms of Use and the limitations of liability in Section 24 of our Terms of Use apply in full to the Community, to everything you read in it, and to anything you or anyone else does in reliance on it. Your dealings with other members are between you and them.
These Guidelines do not create any duty on us to monitor the Community, to detect any risk, to protect any member from any other member, or to act on any post.
12. Changes and Contact
We may update these Guidelines as the Community grows. Material changes will be notified in the Community or by email and the “Last Updated” date will be revised. Continued participation after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
